About the Role
We are seeking experienced and carpenters to support housing construction, maintenance and infrastructure works across Maningrida and surrounding homelands.
This position is responsible for delivering carpentry works including construction, installation, maintenance and repairs to housing and community infrastructure across BHAC operations in Maningrida and surrounding homelands, including:
* Deliver carpentry works across Maningrida and surrounding homelands, including construction, repairs and maintenance of housing and community facilities
* Work across grant funded homelands programs such as HMES, HHIP, meeting required standards, scopes and timeframes
* Work alongside and support Trade Assistants, apprentices and local Indigenous staff, building capability through on-the-job coaching and guidance
* Carry out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance, with the autonomy to manage your day-to-day work
* Travel to homelands as required, including occasional overnight stays in remote locations
* Ensure all work meets building codes, quality and safety standards and manufacturer specifications
* Use systems (e.g. job cards / ServiceM8) to track work, materials and job progress
* Work both independently and as part of a team alongside other trades and contractors
* Build respectful relationships with community members and stakeholders, working in a culturally appropriate way

About You
You will be well suited to this role if you can demonstrate:
* Trade qualification in Carpentry (Certificate III or equivalent)
* Proven experience delivering carpentry works across construction, maintenance and repairs
* Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and accountability
* Ability to problem-solve and adapt in remote and resource-limited environments
* A positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Willingness to support and mentor apprentices and local workers
* Respect for Aboriginal culture and the ability to work in a culturally appropriate way
* A current Ochre Card (or ability to obtain)
* A current manual driver’s licence
* Previous experience working in remote or regional locations (highly regarded)
