We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our client's team on a 6-month contract with the strong possibility of transitioning into a permanent role.
This is an exciting chance to contribute to a major project as it moves towards the development phase.
About the Role
In this role, you will work exclusively on procurement contracts, focusing on the drafting and negotiation of high-value and high-risk contracts. You will be instrumental in supporting the successful delivery of our client's flagship project as well as potential to assist and provide support on some Australian projects as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex procurement contracts.
- Providing strategic legal and commercial advice to internal stakeholders.
- Managing high-value and high-risk contractual matters with confidence and precision.
- Ensuring contracts align with project timelines, budgets, and risk management frameworks.
- Taking ownership of the work performed and driving matters to completion.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who brings:
- 7+ years’ experience in front-end contracting.
- Strong experience as a construction lawyer, with a background in the mining sector.
- A proven track record in the drafting and negotiation of procurement contracts.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver outcomes under pressure.
