About the Role
A Federal Agency requires a Senior IT Systems Engineer to support the delivery of ICT and IT Security related projects. The successful candidate will have experience supporting Windows Server and desktop environments. Ideally, candidate will have previously supported and implemented MS infrastructure roles and services including but not limited to DHCP, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Manage and configure Microsoft 365 Defender to protect against advanced threats.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code scripts using Azure Bicep.
- Automate deployment processes and ensure consistency across environments.
- Manage and update Citrix virtual apps and desktops.
- Maintain and update VDI images for Citrix and VMWare environments.
- Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine IT tasks.
- Enhance system efficiency through automation.
- Manage Docker containers and orchestrate deployments.
- Ensure the stability and performance of containerised applications.
- Integrate ISM or NIST security controls into system builds.
- SQL Server Administration
- Manage and configure Dynamics 365 environments.
- Support both on-premise and cloud-based Dynamics 365 (Microsoft PowerApps).
- Administering SharePoint (Online and on-premise)
- Utilise Jira for project management and issue tracking.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (previously SCCM or Intune) developing and managing Windows operating systems using either on-premises or cloud instances.
- Experience application packaging of desktop/server software.
- Experience documenting build processes and user/administrator operating procedures.
- Experience in Windows and application patch management
- Experience in administering Office 365 & Azure tenancies
- Experience using or managing VMWare infrastructure
