Electrify your future.**About the role**AGL has an exciting opportunity for a **Reliability Engineer** to join our Hydro Renewables team supporting 14 hydro power stations across Victoria and New South Wales.**Location:** based in our **Melbourne office** or **Mount Beauty office.**This role offers a unique balance of city-based flexibility and meaningful connection to some of Australia’s most iconic renewable energy assets. While your home base will be Melbourne - providing access to a collaborative corporate environment, strong professional networks, and hybrid flexibility - you’ll also regularly travel to Mount Beauty to stay closely connected to the operational teams and hydro assets you support.You’ll have the opportunity to spend time on-site within the Kiewa Valley, gaining firsthand exposure to major hydro infrastructure, complex engineering challenges, and the people who keep these assets operating safely and reliably. The monthly travel component allows you to build strong operational relationships while experiencing one of Victoria’s most scenic regions.**What you’ll be doing*** Data-driven reliability expertise, using turbine performance data, condition monitoring outputs, and failure trends to proactively improve asset reliability* Technical problem-solving capability, applying root cause analysis, FMECA, and practical, cost-effective monitoring solutions* Strategic maintenance planning experience, refining Reliability-Centred Maintenance strategies and optimising maintenance tasks, intervals, and spares based on asset criticality* Strong collaboration skills, working cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement* Analytical and systems capability, including SAP and reliability tools, to support reporting, planning, and decision-making**What you’ll bring*** A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally Electrical or Mechanical preferred OR experienced reliability professionals and trade-qualified technicians with demonstrated expertise in asset reliability, maintenance, and operational performance.* Experience applying Reliability Engineering techniques and Asset Management principles to improve performance and maintenance outcomes* Demonstrated experience leading reliability improvement initiatives within power generation or a similar heavy industry environment* Experience with SAP as a CMMS is highly desirable* Familiarity with platforms such as Power BI, OSI PI, RCA, reliability, and condition monitoring software is desirable**At AGL, we offer a wide range of benefits including:*** Flexible working options.* Discounts on energy, telcos and solar plans.* Participate in Energise - our reward & recognition program.* Access 20 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary carer.* Access to an additional week of recharge leave per year.* Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives.* Novated leasing and Electric Vehicle subscriptions.* Access to study assistance, AGL’s share purchase plan and insurance deals.*\*Benefits may change over time and vary based on role type and location.*Applications will close on **28th May 2026**.**Inclusion at AGL**At AGL, we value diversity and welcome applicants from various backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals with disabilities, culturally diverse individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
