Bexton Consulting is an Australian-owned and privately held IT consulting and recruitment firm. We have consulting practices in the areas of Project Services, Cloud & Infrastructure, Data, and Digital Solutions & Platforms. We have a recruitment practice that hires our internal consultants and also finds contractors and permanent staff for our clients. We have multiple engagement models with our clients, from outsourced projects/solutions to co-sourced teams of people to individuals. Our goal is to be the supplier of choice to large corporations and government departments for external IT solution expertise and labour.
About the Role
Our Recruitment Practice is working with our client to find a person who will initially start on contract, with a potential view to move to permanent in the new financial year.
* 5+ years in cybersecurity, including 3+ years in a hands‐on engineering role
* Must have Baseline clearance
* Strong background across core security domains including SIEM (Sentinel, Cortex XSIAM, Splunk, QRadar), endpoint security (EDR), network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS), and incident response
* Experience implementing and managing identity and data security solutions (e.g. Entra ID, SailPoint, Microsoft Purview/DLP)
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and common security architectures
* Experience securing cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)
* Ability to automate and improve security operations using scripting (Python, PowerShell or similar)
* Strong understanding of risk, compliance, and security frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8)
* Proven problem‐solving capability across modern threat landscapes (malware, APTs, etc.)
Location & Working Model
* Melbourne‐based role with a hybrid model – minimum 3 days onsite.
