Overview
Fujitsu is seeking a skilled VMware Engineer to join the on-site IT Infrastructure team in Sydney, Australia.
The role supports and optimizes the virtual infrastructure that underpins critical business operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure stability, scalability, and high availability of the VMware environment.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machines.
Configure and maintain VMware High Availability (HA), DRS clusters, and resource pools.
Conduct performance tuning, system optimization, and capacity planning.
Manage VM lifecycle tasks including provisioning, snapshots, templates, and cloning.
Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure using vRealize, SolarWinds, or similar tools.
Integrate VMware platforms with SAN/NAS storage and virtual network configurations.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies using native and third-party tools.
Ensure infrastructure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
Maintain thorough documentation of systems, processes, and change management records.
Provide expert support and consultation to internal IT and business stakeholders.
Requirements and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience managing VMware infrastructure.
Proficient in VMware vSphere 6.x/7.x/8.x, vSAN, and VMware Cloud solutions.
Strong background in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and core networking (DNS/DHCP).
Scripting experience in PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across virtual, storage, and network layers.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) or higher.
ITIL Foundation or Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE).
Experience working within financial services or regulated IT environments.
3 Months contract.
