Your position
Join our team as an Electrical Project Engineer, where you'll transform "as‐sold" system concepts into safe, efficient, and fully integrated electrical designs tailored to customer and project needs. In this role, you'll drive predictable delivery by coordinating system and detailed design activities, managing cross‐disciplinary interfaces, and guiding engineers through effective planning and execution.
Your technical expertise in material handling systems, CAD modelling, industrial automation, and safety standards will ensure exceptional design quality. You'll also play a key role in supporting installation and commissioning teams, improving engineering processes and tools, and sharing knowledge across our global engineering community.

Responsibilities
* Advise on and review projects during the sales phase, ensuring full technical compliance
* Translate and optimise "as‐sold" functionality into a robust, cost‐effective electrical design in collaboration with all engineering disciplines
* Identify non‐standard ("special") requirements and coordinate solutions with the Special Design Engineering team
* Coordinate phasing layouts for brownfield and staged‐installation projects
* Oversee and align steelwork design with electrical and system needs
* Embed safety and ergonomic design principles into all electrical deliverables
* Deliver the electrical design baseline package for customer approval
* Manage building and power interface requirements to ensure seamless integration
* Coordinate electrical interfaces for all procured equipment
* Perform peer reviews of engineering specifications to uphold design quality
* Specify and coordinate resale equipment (standard and special configurations)
* Provide regular progress updates to the Project Lead
* Develop detailed electrical planning aligned with overall project timelines and synchronise schedules across disciplines
* Deliver all electrical scope with predictable quality, on time and within budget
Site Support
* Prepare complete installation files
* Produce test reports
* Resolve site problem reports
* Generate additional material specifications when required
* Create site installation instructions
* Support installation and commissioning teams both on‐site and remotely
* Process and finalise as‐built documentation from site
About You
You are an Electrical Project Engineer with a collaborative mindset, strong customer focus, and a drive for continuous improvement.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
* Eligible for National Engineering Register (NER) and State Engineering Registration (registration preferred)
* Strong knowledge of relevant AU/NZ standards, including AS3000 and machine‐safety standards
* Highly desirable: CMSE, CE Marking, or other machine‐safety certifications
* Proven experience in industrial electrical design across material‐handling environments (e.g., conveyors, robotics, automation)
* Advanced proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD and NAVIS
* Strong understanding of material‐handling system architecture and integration
* Ability to translate "as‐sold" concepts into detailed, accurate, integrated electrical designs
* Solid grasp of engineering processes—including baselines, electrical requirements, and procurement specifications
* Experience supporting installation, commissioning, site coordination, and field issue resolution
* Familiar with simulations, design validation, interfaces, and clash detection
* Clear and confident communicator with excellent documentation skills
* Highly structured, detail‐driven, and analytical work style
* Proactive, self‐motivated, and effective in both independent and global team environments
* Strong stakeholder‐management capability across customers, suppliers, and internal teams
