Position Summary
Provides janitorial services and general maintenance of warehouse and surrounding grounds.
The role involves cleaning warehouse floors, offices, break areas and restrooms as well as following daily and weekly tasks lists for cleaning and general maintenance activity.
Must be available to work a 5 days per week.
Including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Cleans warehouse floors, offices, break rooms, and restrooms
- Follows departmental standards for cleanliness and performance of duties
- Empties rubbish from designated areas throughout the warehouse
- Pulls merchandise slip sheets and loose cardboard from sales floor
- Operates garbage compactor and cardboard baler
- Checks daily schedule for assigned routine tasks and maintenance repair jobs
- Purchases supplies and parts needed for projects
- Maintains grounds outside warehouse including blowing leaves, picking up litter and building maintenance
- Follows proper Maintenance and general safety and security procedures, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler and product disposal
- Responds quickly to and cleans up spills
- Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
- Hand tools, pressure washer, floor scrubber, leaf blower, power tools, rubbish compactor, cardboard baler and machinery throughout the warehouse, mop wringer
Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess)
Experience/Skills:
- Janitor, general maintenance or comparable experience - not required but is beneficial
- Problem solving ability
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual
