Job Description
This role involves providing technical contracts administration and oversight for commercial activities within allocated projects. The Senior Commercial Contracts Administrator will report to the Senior Commercial Manager with a delegation to support projects in delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering upstream Head Contract and downstream Supply/Subcontracts, including:
* Preparing and reviewing contract notices and variations for internal review
* Maintaining commercial registers
* Ensuring performance and delivery of project scope
* Assessing event impacts, managing claims and extensions of time (EOTs)
* Supporting accurate progress claims, forecasting, and reporting
* FOLLOWING CONTRACT MANUALS AND LEADING CHANGE MANAGEMENT, INCLUDING DESIGN CHANGES
* CORDINATING PROMPT ISSUANCE OF SUBCONTRACTS AND SUPPLY CONTRACTS, ENSURING COMPLIANCE
* DRIVING CONTRACT MANAGEMENT PROCESSES, INCLUDING VARIATION AND CHANGE CLAIMS
* COLLABORATING WITH INTERNAL TEAMS (PROCUREMENT, FINANCE, LEGAL, CONTROLS)
* ASSISTING IN NEGOTIATIONS AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION; PROVIDING DATA FOR UPSTREAM CLAIMS
* PREPARING SUMMARIES AND REPORTS FOR LEADERSHIP AND EXECUTIVE TEAMS AS REQUIRED
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Law, Commerce, Engineering, or similar
* Extensive experience in commercial/contract management for construction, services, or manufacturing
* Familiarity with InEight is advantageous
* Expertise in both traditional and collaborative contracting
* Strong negotiation and contract management skills
* Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
* Effective communicator in multidisciplinary teams
* Knowledge of warranty, defects, acceptance, testing, and commissioning
* Ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams to resolve issues
* Proactive, decisive, and focused on achieving best commercial outcomes
