Responsibilities 
- Leadership & Practice Management – Lead and mentor a team of surveyors, drive culture, collaboration, and staff development; oversee recruitment, workforce planning, and performance management to ensure a highly engaged team. 
- Project Delivery & Commercial Performance – Manage projects end-to-end, ensure technical excellence, timely delivery, and profitability; oversee financial performance, work in progress (WIP), invoicing, and resource planning. 
- Client Relationships & Business Development – Act as a key client manager, maintain robust existing relationships, identify opportunities to expand presence; lead proposals, bids, and cross-service collaboration. 
- Technical Excellence – Provide direction on cadastral, engineering, and construction surveys; ensure quality assurance, safety compliance, and effective use of digital systems. 
- Strategic Leadership – Drive the long-term success of the Newcastle practice, align with broader business strategy, and contribute to growth in Place and Development. 
About You / Qualifications 
- Holds a recognised degree in Surveying and is registered with the Surveyors Board of NSW. 
- Brings extensive experience in surveying practice, including cadastral and construction survey expertise. 
- Demonstrates strong project management and financial acumen. 
- Proven ability in leadership, mentoring, and team development. 
- Excels in client relationship management and business development. 
- Is passionate about staff engagement, culture, and high-quality outcomes. 
- Based in Newcastle area with full working rights, citizenship or permanent residency status; sponsorship is not available for this role.
