An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Unit as a Nurse Educator. In this role you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating education programs. You will be managing educational resources, provide expert guidance, and lead a culture of continual clinical, professional, and organisational learning within a Supported Practice Framework.

About us: The Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Unit (NMERU) provides a recognised reference point for the educational and training support to nursing and midwifery staff within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS). The team support the professional development of nursing and midwifery staff working across urban, rural, and regional centres through the development of innovative and dynamic strategies (including simulation) within the education programs.

About you:

In your new role you will......

* Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
* Support the professional development of the nursing and midwifery staff.
* Foster a positive culture of continuous quality improvement, including exemplary leadership practices and role-modelling behaviours, promoting cooperation and collaborative teamwork.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will.....

* Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders at the statewide network to develop and implement assessment, standards for practice, planning, review, and evaluation of educational programs for nursing staff working within Sub-Acute Care Unit (SACU) & Older Persons Evaluation, Rehabilitation and Assessment (OPERA) units.
* Promote a learning environment through clinical support, instruction, and feedback including mentoring of novice/less experienced nursing staff working within the SACU, OPERA and across CHHHS.
