Your new role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the position of Team Leader Metadata.
This position is fixed term to 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
This is an evolving role in a newly formed team. You will contribute to increasing the information management maturity of the WA health system by leading the metadata work program, which includes the development and implementation of a metadata repository, core standards and reference data, and a metadata policy.
What are we looking for?
Our ideal candidate will have experience in the development and management of metadata in a complex environment, project management and well-developed interpersonal skills. They will lead and coordinate metadata functions and work with both business and technical teams to deliver the metadata work program.
The advertised position is an existing role which has recently become part of the new Metadata and Data Development team and will provide high-level metadata support to both existing data programs and the new enterprise data platform currently under development in partnership with Health Support Services. As metadata is important for all data collections, the Team Leader Metadata will be exposed to a wide variety of health data and initiatives.
The Team Leader Metadata will lead the metadata work program, including providing expert advice on metadata to stakeholders across the WA health system; development and implementation of a new metadata repository; development and maintenance of central master data and reference lists; and support for metadata governance processes, including the introduction of a metadata policy and development and/or review of standards.
