Job Description
The purpose of this position is to carry out the maintenance servicing of Vertiv equipment, after‐hours service work and commissioning as planned and directed by the Service Operations Manager and Thermal Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities Planning & Reporting
* Plan customer service maintenance visits in a structured and methodical manner.
* Use the digital reporting tool to accurately record hours worked, call‐out and response times each day.
* Complete field service reports for every maintenance and service call attended.
Operational Delivery
* Carry out commissioning, service maintenance and after‐hours service commitments in a professional, efficient manner.
* Maintain relationships between Vertiv and our customers by having professional interactions and providing customer feedback to the Vertiv Team.
* Keep up to date with training requirements across multiple Vertiv technologies.
* Maintain the supplied company vehicle and personal appearance to the appropriate company standard.
* Keep a personal onboard spares inventory, record and report inventory use.
WHS, Environment & Quality
* Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations.
* Actively promote safety in the workplace.
Daily Work Duties and Expectations
* Drivers licence required (may involve visit to remote sites).
* Overnight or longer trips may be required.
* Unaccompanied (lone worker) after‐hours work and being on an on‐call roster is needed.
* Attend customer service calls.
* Use of ladders, scissor lift and scaffolding.
* Work in tight and restricted locations.
* Work on and around energised electrical equipment.
* Work on live refrigerant lines and pressure vessels.
* Work at heights (needs work‐at‐heights training refreshed every 5 years).
* Work on HVAC mechanical systems that may involve awkward body positions at times.
* Lifting, carrying and relocating equipment and components (e.g., compressors, gas bottles).

Education/Qualification
* Mechanical Trade Certificate (state dependent)
* Restricted Electrical Licence
* Refrigerant Handling Licence
Specialist Knowledge
* Technical knowledge – data centres, telecom, commercial & industrial or similar industries (highly regarded)
Practical Experience
* Proven track record within the air‐conditioning or other precision cooling industry as a service technician.
* Thermal controls and networking knowledge.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
