Counsellor Level 1 / 2 – $70,944 – $101,211 per annum
Occupational Therapist Level 1/2 – $70,944 – $101,211 per annum
Psychologist – $74,742 – $109,397 per annum
Registered Nurse – $70,049 – $98,351 per annum
Social Worker Level 1/2 – $70,944 – $101,211 per annum
Rural Incentive
: Eligible for NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentives Scheme (up to $5,000).
About the Service
The Aboriginal Health Workers at Southern NSW Local Health District are instrumental in delivering culturally safe care and bridging community connections.
What You'll Be Doing
The Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician will provide recovery-focused, person-centred, culturally competent services: assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, advocacy, and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people with mental illness, distress or risk issues.
Selection Criteria
Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with established links to the local Aboriginal community.
Tertiary qualification—Bachelor Health Science (Mental Health) or current registration with AHPRA (for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists), or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, safe, and connected care to consumers and families in a person-centred, holistic manner promoting self-determination and a strengths-based approach.
High-level communication skills to engage and collaborate with consumers, families, carers, and stakeholders.
High-level computer skills—including Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Office, and Skype for Business.
Knowledge of Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drugs strategic directions and legislation (Mental Health Act ****).
Unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to travel long distances and overnight stays.
