Stud Farm Worker
A stud farm worker is responsible for the care and management of mares, foals, weanlings, yearlings, and spelling racehorses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handling and caring for horses in various stages of development including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
* Providing assistance to veterinarians, farriers, and other equine professionals as required.
* Conducting daily tasks such as feed runs, cleaning barns, and administering treatments.
* Supporting foal handling, weaning, and transportation to and from cover and breakers.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Holding a valid Australian driver's license.
* Demonstrating high-level horse husbandry skills and experience.
* Prior experience in general horse care and stud farm duties.
* Able to work independently and mentor junior/seasonal staff members.
* Will to continuously learn and broaden their skills.
