About the opportunity
As our Maintenance Technician you'll be directly reporting into the Technical Manager & Leads. You'll be responsible for conducting maintenance activities associated with the Mail Processing Equipment, such as corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance, as well as improving reliability. You may also be required to use SAP, to process stock orders and ensure all plant and material maintenance transactions are accurately recorded.
About the facility
As part of the Queensland Technical Services team, you'll play a key role in maintaining mail processing equipment across our parcel and letter facility based in Northgate, Brisbane, conveniently located to the M1. The facility is integral to the smooth operation of Australia Post and Startrack through the country.
The type of machinery you can expect to be working on at this facility is automation systems and conveyers controlled by PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) & VFD (Variable Frequency Drive). Including Network communications and digital address recognition computer systems, and other modern technology.
You\'ll be
1. Keeping our processing machines running at peak performance through preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance
2. Diagnosing and repairing complex faults to ensure smooth operations
3. Understanding maintenance management systems, maintaining accurate records in SAP for efficient planning
4. Prioritising safety and compliance in everything you do
5. Provided ongoing coaching and development from experienced technical leaders
About you
6. Qualifications: A current Queensland Electrical Licence
7. Experience in the diagnosis, repair and monitoring of mail processing equipment and systems is highly regarded
8. Exposure to PLC & VFD is also advantageous, but not essential
9. Proven ability to work independently without supervision
10. Experience working in a team environment, liaising effectively with operations & other stakeholders to achieve high levels of machine performance
11. Understanding of communication systems and information technology
12. You\'re flexible with working additional hours if required

14. Competitive Salary: Starting salary $82,575 reviewed after 3 months, pay increments up to $102,00 based on tenure. Potential earnings could exceed $110,000 (with penalties and overtime). We offer a clear pay structure based on your qualifications, with a guaranteed annual pay increase.
15. Work-Life Balance: Work on a rotating roster, 12 hours shifts 3-day shifts, 4 off, 3-night shifts 4 off, rotating. You'll also get to enjoy 5 weeks of paid annual leave per year, with 17.5% annual leave loading!
