About the Role Reporting to the Director General, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading the estimating function across multiple tenders and project opportunities. You will play a key role in securing new work through the preparation of accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, subcontractor engagement, and risk assessment. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, clients, subcontractors, and project teams while mentoring junior estimators and contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate estimates, cost plans, and tender submissions.
Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
Obtain, assess, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Identify and manage commercial risks and project contingencies.
Coordinate internal teams to ensure timely tender delivery.
Build and maintain strong client, supplier, and subcontractor relationships.
Support and mentor Estimators and Estimator Assistants.
Maintain estimating databases, forecasts, and project tracking systems.
Job Requirements
Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of estimating, tendering, and cost planning processes.
Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Experience managing subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Strong commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Leadership experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
