Classification: APS Level 6 - $94,563.00 and $107,713.00 plus 15.4% super (part time pro-rata)
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the National Operations | Operational Coordination & Planning | Technical Support To Operations | RPAS Operations team as an ABF Supervisor, RPAS Operations.
About You:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who can contribute to the strategic direction, planning, and development of ABF RPAS capability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist in the application of the Capability Lifecycle Management Model (CLMM) for RPAS - Plan, Design, Invest and Acquire, Operate and Sustain.
* Contribute to the development of capability plans for ABF RPAS, comprising investment options to develop and maintain capabilities within economic constraints, while suitable for modern-day challenges and circumstances.
* Maintain the Senior Remote Pilot (SRP) cohort for Home Affairs (incorporating the ABF).
* Be an ABF RPAS Quality, Safety and Assurance (QSA) Officer, with delegated responsibility for matters associated with QSA aspects of RPAS operations (land and littoral) as assigned by the CRP.
* Ensure that RPAS operations (land and littoral) are conducted in compliance with the Civil Aviation Act and the Regulations.
* Enhance governance and procedural frameworks.
* Regulatory and auditing compliance including training and certifications, represent the ABF as a SRP.
* Ability to work on-call, extended hours or outside business hours as operationally required, and undertake domestic and international travel.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience in operating RPAS under a Remote Operator's Certificate.
* Knowledge of project and program management, commercial electronic technologies awareness, including wireless communications, computer operating systems, computer hardware and computer networks.
* Ability to hold and maintain ABF Use of Force Permit.
* Holds, or has previously held, a valid State/Territory Driver license with no restrictions.
* Current accreditation via CASA, including holding a valid 25kg multirotor endorsement, and aviation radio qualification 'AROC'.
* Hold and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance.
Desirable:
* Experience as Chief or Senior Remote Pilot or similar role, including complex and/or law enforcement RPA operations.
* Prior experience in the use of RPAS flight management software for RPAS compliance.
* Operational risk assessment and planning experience.
* Law enforcement experience.
* The ability and willingness to undertake all mandatory training requirements necessary to be sworn in as an ABF officer.
