About the role
We're a specialist workshop servicing and repairing trenchless plumbing equipment, including high-pressure jetters, sewer cameras and related systems. The work is hands-on, varied, and detail-focused.
We're looking for a reliable technician with strong mechanical skills and some electronics capability who takes pride in neat, methodical work and can see jobs through with a high attention to detail.
This role starts as a 3-month full-time casual trial. If we're a good fit for each other, the role will move to permanent full-time.
What you'll be doing
Electronics / camera work:
* Basic electronics fault-finding
* Soldering and cable repairs
* Connector and loom repairs
* Module swaps and bench testing
* Following documented repair procedures (no guesswork)
Mechanical / equipment work:
* Servicing and repairing jetters, pumps, hoses, fittings and frames
* Strip, inspect, clean, rebuild and test equipment
* Small engine servicing and fault-finding (petrol/diesel)
* Using hand tools daily (spanners, screwdrivers, drills, etc.)
Workflow & ownership:
* Progress jobs end-to-end
* Update job statuses clearly
* Pack and ship completed jobs
* Keep your workspace and documentation tidy
Must haves (non-negotiable)
* Lives locally (reasonable commute to outer east Melbourne)
* Confident using general hand tools
* Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Comfortable following procedures and checklists
* Reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure
The above is essential, on the job training will be provided.
Strong advantage
* Electronics knowledge (even at a basic / practical level)
* Soldering experience
* Small engine or mechanical repair background
* Experience fault-finding rather than just swapping parts
Trial structure
This role begins as a 3-month full-time casual position to ensure the role is the right fit for both sides.
The hourly rate will remain the same if the role converts to permanent full-time employment.
