We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team. As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing practical support to consumers, improving their independent living skills, and assisting them with budgeting, social activities, shopping, and other areas.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and review person-centred, individualised support plans that are holistic, culturally appropriate, and trauma-informed. Your expertise will enable consumers to identify their wellbeing needs and aspirations, collaborate with family, carers, and key sources of support, and access education, vocational training, and employment opportunities.

As a Community Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to engage in consumer advocacy, assist consumers in developing self-advocacy skills and strategies, and keep up-to-date records using online systems.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess qualifications in Mental Health, Social Work, Social Welfare, or other relevant social science or behavioural disciplines, or significant relevant experience. You must also have a demonstrated understanding of issues affecting refugees and asylum seekers, knowledge of cultures and health needs of refugee communities, and technical literacy with Microsoft Office and reporting systems.

In addition, you will require ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team, valid NSW Drivers C class licence, and current Police Check, WWCC, and NDIS WC.
