Operating within the North Region Water Planning Team, you will collaboratively develop water plans across catchments for sustainable water management.

The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGWV), formerly known as the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water, drives sustainable growth across Queensland. Our mission is to manage water resources responsibly and empower councils to support Queensland communities. With over 700 professionals in Brisbane and regional offices, we ensure Queensland's communities, businesses, and water resources thrive.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Conduct water planning activities within a region, coordinating input from multidisciplinary teams and delivering outputs aligned with water planning functions and business objectives.
2. Draft policy papers and recommendations for water plan development, supporting instruments, and other water planning documents in accordance with Queensland Water Act 2000 requirements.
3. Perform technical reviews to inform water management solutions and policies, liaising with technical experts from various disciplines.
4. Undertake desktop research, data collection, interpretation, and analysis to inform water management and policy issues.
5. Assist with consultations with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Prepare policy papers, briefing notes, and other correspondence as needed.
7. Analyze and interpret existing national and state government strategies, policies, and legislation related to sustainable water management.
8. Support a positive team culture by sharing information and supporting team members.
9. Perform other duties as required.
