Our client, a leading government agency, is seeking an experienced
Senior IT Project Manager
to lead a major digital transformation initiative focused on improving how the organisation communicates with its community.
This role will drive the shift toward centralised digital notifications, helping establish an enterprise notification platform and preference centre to deliver personalised, relevant, and efficient communication.
You will lead the project from concept canvas and business case development through to full end-to-end delivery, with strong emphasis on structured project delivery and adherence to the SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full life-cycle delivery of a high-value digital project ($2–5M+)
Develop project concept canvas, business case, schedules, and governance frameworks
Manage internal delivery teams and coordinate cross-departmental collaboration
Work closely with technical teams to understand issues, explore solutions, and present recommendations
Engage senior leadership and stakeholders to drive alignment and timely decision-making
Oversee vendors where required while remaining hands-on with internal delivery
Ensure structured delivery aligned to the SDLC and Waterfall methodologies
Key Requirements
15+ years in IT Project Management, including 5+ years leading complex digital initiatives
Proven delivery of customer-facing digital solutions (e.g., portals, self-service platforms, major web rebuilds)
Strong, recent experience with Waterfall delivery across the full SDLC
Demonstrated success managing substantial internal teams with minimal vendor reliance
Excellent stakeholder and executive engagement skills across diverse business units
Ability to understand technical complexities and communicate them clearly to senior audiences
Experience with CRM or vendor management platforms highly desirable
Strong communication skills and relevant PM certifications (PRINCE2, PMBOK) advantageous
