About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Migration Specialist with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). This role requires a migration expert who can lead the full lifecycle—from data discovery and cleansing to transformation, validation, loading, and cutover.
You will act as the primary authority on data strategy, governance, execution, and troubleshooting across multiple transformation projects.
This is an onsite role in Sydney, working closely with cross-functional and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities Data Migration Leadership
Lead the full end-to-end migration lifecycle: discovery, mapping, profiling, transformation, validation, loading, and reconciliation.
Define and implement a comprehensive data migration strategy, standards, and quality frameworks.
Collaborate with functional and technical consultants to understand business processes and data structures.
Design detailed data mappings from legacy systems to D365 F&O entities aligned with business rules.
Technical Expertise in Dynamics 365 F&O
Leverage the Data Management Framework (DMF) for migration execution.
Develop and optimize data entity packages, templates, and custom entities.
Manage LCS Asset Library and coordinate migration across environments (Dev → Test → UAT → Prod).
Legacy Data Extraction & Transformation
Extract data from ERP, CRM, databases, flat files, and custom legacy systems.
Build ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, or equivalent tools.
Perform complex transformations, cleansing, and validation to ensure data integrity.
Develop SQL queries, scripts, and automation for large-scale data loads.
Data Validation & Quality Assurance
Conduct data quality checks and gap analysis.
Collaborate with business SMEs to validate migrated data and resolve discrepancies.
Execute mock loads, cutover planning, and final migration activities.
Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with solution architects, consultants, analysts, and developers.
Prepare technical documentation, mapping sheets, data processes, and runbooks.
Deliver knowledge transfer and training to internal teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3–5 years of hands-on experience in data migrations for D365 Finance & Operations.
Expert understanding of DMF, data entities, and the D365 data model.
Strong proficiency in SQL, relational databases, ETL/ELT pipelines, and transformation scripting.
Experience extracting and migrating data from legacy systems (SAP, Oracle, Navision, AX 2009/2012, Salesforce, Custom ERP/CRM).
Hands-on experience with:
Azure Data Factory (ADF)

PowerShell / Python
Excel Power Query

Proven experience delivering large-scale, multi-phase migration projects.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with Dynamics AX 2012 or earlier.
Knowledge of Azure SQL, cloud data patterns, and integrations.
Exposure to Dataverse, dual-write, or additional D365 modules.
Microsoft certifications (MB-300, MB-500, MB-700).
