About the Cottage – The AIS Caretaker's Cottage is a 48-place childcare facility located at the Australian Sports Commission in Bruce. It has been established to provide high-quality care in an environment that is welcoming, nurturing and educational. The Cottage has three playrooms and two separate playgrounds. Ten full-time places are available for children aged 0 to 18 months, 15 places for children aged 18 months to three years and up to 23 places for children aged three to five years.
The Cottage maintains an Exceeding Rating and has achieved an Excellent Rating three times in a row, recognising our commitment to quality service for children, families and staff.
About the team – The team at the Cottage takes a contemporary approach to pedagogical practice informed by current theory. You will have the opportunity to explore contemporary practices and implement approaches by modern theorists. For example, we integrate a Primary Caregiving Approach to support relationships and have a commitment to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives in our work.
About the role – As a member of the senior team, you will assist in the delivery of a high-quality educational program. You will assist in the planning and implementation of programs, build strong relationships with children and families, ensure compliance and uphold child safety standards.
About you – We are looking for a senior educator who has a passion for Early Childhood Education with the following:
* Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
* Demonstrated experience in the education and care of children aged birth to 5 years
* Strong leadership skills
* You will be familiar with the EYLF and Demonstrated experience in program development and implementation.
* A strong commitment to play-based learning and reflective practice
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Current Working with Vulnerable People card
