The Opportunity
Mechanical Fitters install, maintain and repair machinery andequipment that is essential to keep operations running. Ourfour-year Mechanical Fitting apprenticeship gives you specialistskills development and hands-on experience in a busy plantenvironment whilst completing your Certificate III in Engineering– Mechanical Trade.
Working across our Ammonia & Ammonium Nitrate, SodiumCyanide or Fertilisers production facilities in Kwinana you will bementored by experienced tradespeople who are keen to share theirknowledge and support your career development.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Supporting the installation and assembly of mechanicalmachinery and equipment.
- Helping to perform routine maintenance on mechanicalsystems.
- Assisting in diagnosing faults and carrying out repairsunder supervision.
- Carrying out all work safely and in accordance with healthand safety procedures.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A demonstrated commitment to studying and training.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver's licence or working towards obtainingyour driver's licence.
- Successfully completed Year 12 and/or currently completingor have completed a pre-apprenticeship (pre-apprenticeships arefavourable but not essential).
- A genuine interest in mechanical work and engineering.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a supportiveteam.
- The commitment to prioritising your safety, and the safetyof others in all practices, including understanding safe workpractices in a workshop.
- Confidence to work at heights and in confined spaces(permitted once the appropriate training and approvals areobtained).
