About the role:
We are looking for safety-conscious individuals with the relevant shunt qualifications to join our West Kalgoorlie team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to progress towards becoming a qualified Locomotive Driver, as our Trainee Driver positions are filled by top performers from our Operational Maintainer ranks. * Control the movement of trains and carry out relevant instructions always maintaining safety
* Inspect for faults, repair, service and maintain rollingstock
* Support maintenance of locomotives, ancillary vehicles, machines, and equipment
* Conduct brake testing of trains
* Effectively communicate with other depot personnel as well as clients and operational staff including train control face to face and via two-way radio
* Undertake shunting and marshalling of trains
* Other duties as requested
About you:
* C Class Drivers Licence (mandatory)
* Shunt qualification (mandatory)
* Strong commitment to safety
* Mechanical aptitude
* Strong problem solving and communication skills
* A willingness to work day & night shift (up to 12hr shifts) and including weekend work as required
