Remuneration
* Salary – $121,301 – $140,092 pa – 12-24mths – fixed term contract – negotiable
* Ability to Salary Package up to $15,900pa plus a further $2,650pa on Meals and Entertainment
* Professional development, study leave and study assistance of up to $1,800

Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation (MHAC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled not-for-profit delivering clinical care, acute and long-term services, and preventative health programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across East Arnhem Land. Our services are designed and delivered for Yolŋu, by Yolŋu.
About the Role
We are seeking an Allied Health Practitioner to deliver culturally safe clinical, cognitive, and functional assessments for people aged 0–65. Your work will support understanding of disability and functional impact, contributing to care planning and access to supports including NDIS.
This role works within a multidisciplinary team and includes regular travel to remote communities by light aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct culturally safe assessments across communication, mobility, learning, social interaction, and daily living
* Use evidence-based assessment tools suited to remote and cross-cultural settings
* Prepare clear clinical reports to inform supports and services
* Work collaboratively with Yolŋu staff, families, interpreters, and multidisciplinary teams
* Support participants to understand assessment outcomes and make informed decisions
* Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to quality improvement activities
About You
* AHPRA registration as a Psychologist (or Provisional) or Occupational Therapist
* Experience in clinical, cognitive, or functional assessments
* Strong report writing and communication skills
* Ability to work in remote and cross-cultural environments
* Understanding of Aboriginal Community Control and commitment to culturally safe practice
Mandatory Requirements
* Ochre Card, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
* Compliance with vaccination requirements
* Willingness to travel to remote communities by light aircraft
