This newly created role will focus on managing key legal compliance areas within the business, particularly related to a current enforceable undertaking associated with a merger. What are the key duties? Develop and implement a fit-for-purpose, auditable compliance framework that manages compliance across all lines of defense, including reporting tools for the Board, committees, and management.Assess and monitor the organisation's compliance with the Undertakings and other regulatory obligations.Develop, maintain, and ensure completion of all training related to the Undertaking obligations.Ensure training content meets the minimum requirements of the Undertaking.Respond to requests from the Independent Auditor, implement recommendations, and comply with directions from the ACCC.Update policies, procedures, and control documents to support compliance with the Undertaking.Conduct compliance control testing, identify control gaps, implement treatment plans, and manage actions to completion.Support the Legal team in developing and maintaining a legal and regulatory risk management framework for customer-facing arrangements, ensuring compliance with Australian Consumer Law, the Franchise Code, and the Unfair Contracts regime. Experience that would set you up for success: A tertiary qualification in law or commerce.7+ years in compliance risk management.Professional experience in a risk or legal and regulatory compliance role within highly regulated industries such as financial services or pharmaceuticals.Strong experience with the Competition and Consumer Act or Corporations Act.Exposure to the ACCC regulatory regime and experience with undertakings is highly desirable.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to senior management and the Board.Proven ability to design, establish, and maintain compliance frameworks and policies. Additional Details: This role offers 2 days of work from home and 3 days in the Melbourne South East office. The organisation plans to move to a new location in Melbourne North East within 12 months. Both locations provide free onsite parking.
