We're looking for an experienced ecologist to manage environmental and heritage risks in rail infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and mitigate environmental risks.
* Conduct ecological assessments and flora/fauna surveys.
* Prepare and submit permit applications (FFG, EPBC, planning, and railways exemptions).
* Develop EMS documentation, including CEMPs and Conservation Management Plans.
* Provide technical advice on vegetation management, fire prevention, and contaminated land.
* Ensure environmental controls are understood and followed during site inspections, pre-starts, and inductions.
* Verify clean-up and compliance through post-works inspections.
* Prepare ecological reports and environmental investigation findings.
* Deliver ecological awareness training and improve environmental understanding across teams.
* Liaise with regulators to identify permitting pathways for rail works and support stakeholder engagement.
