Women's Safety Services SA (WSSSA) is a leading provider of support services for women and children experiencing domestic & family violence. THE ROLE

The Northern Hub is a collaborative partnership between WSSSA, SA Police and a range of other key service providers.


The Early Intervention Community Outreach Worker will work with individuals, communities and stakeholders to establish and promote early intervention pathways for victim-survivors. The position will coordinate community development activities, events and projects and will be responsible for facilitating discussions and engagement within the community that aim to increase community awareness of DFV and support people experiencing DFV in those communities

This newly created position gives an opportunity working full time (1 FTE) on a fixed term contract to 30 June 2027, based at our Northern suburbs site.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will have had experience with individuals and communities to establish and promote early intervention pathways for victim-survivors of domestic & family violence. To succeed in this rewarding role you will also need:.

* A degree or diploma in Social work, Social Studies, Community Services and /or experience commensurate with the position.
* Experience in working with people who have experienced domestic/family violence;
* Excellent knowledge of theoretical approaches and practice foundations applicable when working with people experiencing domestic and Aboriginal family violence;
* Experience in the development of community -based programs;
* Knowledge of community co-design principles and strong ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and community leaders;
* Experience developing community driven and responsive activities, events and projects;
* A current full drivers licence, and be eligible for, or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
