Landscape Gardener – Team Leader (Casual)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Landscape Gardener – Team Leader to join our professional maintenance team. This is a hands-on role leading a small crew delivering high-quality lawn and garden maintenance across commercial sites.
You will lead by example on site, ensuring works are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
Standard Hours
* Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
* Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm
* Start & finish location: Rocklea
Key Duties
* Professional lawn and garden maintenance
* Leading a small crew of 1–2 team members
* Mowing, edging, pruning, hedging and general garden care
* Safe operation of small plant and equipment
* Maintaining presentation, productivity, and quality standards
* Liaising with supervisors and reporting site issues
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience as a professional landscape gardener
* Ability to supervise and lead a small team on site
* Current Driver's Licence and own reliable transport
* Strong work ethic and attention to detail
* Ability to start early mornings consistently
Pay & Conditions
* Award Level: Level 4 (Gardening & Landscaping Award)
* Casual employment (25% casual loading applies)
* Leading Hand Allowance for supervising 1–2 employees
Approximate weekly before-tax pay:
* Level 4 casual rate (incl. loading): ~$35.15/hr
* Leading hand allowance: ~$4.27/day
* 36 hours/week ≈ $1,269.20 per week (before tax)
Pathway to Level 5
This role is structured with a clear pathway to Level 5 classification. Progression will be considered once the employee demonstrates:
* Consistent leadership and supervision of crews across multiple sites
* Ability to plan daily works, manage productivity, and uphold quality standards
* Strong understanding of safety, equipment use, and site requirements
* Reliable attendance, professionalism, and positive client interaction
Progression to Level 5 will be subject to performance review and business requirements.
