We're delivering a major upgrade at Barry Beach Marine Terminal for a long‑term client enabling them to decommission oil and gas rigs which has reached the end of their lifespan. This project will strengthen wharves, install massive piles, and construct heavy‑duty slabs and pavements in preparation for one of the most significant offshore transitions in decades, and this project is the foundation that makes it possible.

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead and coordinate the design function, ensuring quality, constructability, compliance, and value engineering across all marine and civil works.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the design process from concept through to IFC documentation.
* Oversee consultant selection, briefing, scope preparation, and performance management.
* Chair and document design meetings, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
* Review and verify design documentation for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
* Provide technical guidance and implement value engineering opportunities.
* Collaborate with project delivery teams to align design outcomes with construction methodology, program, and budget.
* Drive continuous improvement and maintain strong client relationships.


About You


Essential Qualifications & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in design management within the construction industry.
* Proven experience managing large‑scale industrial or marine projects (up to $100M).
* Proficiency in Procore or similar platforms, MS Project, Excel, and Bluebeam.


Skills & Attributes

* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability for complex marine and civil works.
* Ability to manage multiple design packages under strict deadlines.
* Sound knowledge of industry practices, building codes, and integration of construction equipment and materials.
