A large education provider is entering its next phase of growth and transformation. As part of this evolution, the finance function is undergoing a significant digital uplift - embedding automation, strengthening controls and enhancing reporting frameworks across the business.
This is a key leadership position within the organisation, partnering closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and financial governance.
The Role
We are seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, compliance and control frameworks across the business.
This role will suit a confident communicator who can operate comfortably at board level while maintaining hands‐on oversight of the finance function in a growing, evolving environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead month‐end, year‐end and consolidated reporting
* Oversee financial controls, governance and compliance
* Manage audit and statutory obligations
* Drive budgeting, forecasting and cashflow oversight
* Partner with operational leaders to support performance
* Lead and develop the finance team
* Improve systems, reporting and automation capability
About you
You are a qualified finance leader with strong technical foundations and the ability to balance strategic oversight with operational execution.
You will bring:
* CA or CPA qualification (practice‐trained background highly regarded)
* 6–10+ years' progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership exposure
* Strong technical accounting expertise in complex environments
* Demonstrated ownership of consolidated reporting and external audit
* Experience overseeing tax compliance and regulatory obligations
* Advanced ERP and Excel capability
* Commercial acumen and ability to partner with executive stakeholders
* Proven ability to lead, mentor and uplift finance teams
