MacKillop Catholic College is a Catholic Secondary College on Hobart's Eastern Shore with a strong commitment to academic excellence and pastoral care. In 2023, we introduced Grades 11 and 12, and our student numbers continue to grow as we expand into 2026. To support this growth, we are seeking Teacher Assistants (Learning Support) and (Food Technology & Textiles)
Our Teacher Assistants play and important role by supporting the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students. Working closely with our teaching team, our TA's ensure adjustments are made so all students can meaningfully engage with the curriculum.
About the role:
Support teachers in delivering educational programs and preparing learning materials.
Assist students individually or in groups, including implementing intervention strategies and monitoring progress.
Help students navigate routines, technology, and challenges with confidence.
Provide care and support for students' physical, social, and emotional needs, and assist during excursions and school routines.
Communicate student progress to teachers, and support positive behaviour in line with school policies.
Food Technology and Textiles:
Preparing and setting up the classroom.
Ordering and maintaining stock levels and equipment.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Assisting students with food handling and equipment use under teacher supervision.
About You:
The ideal candidate will bring:
Qualifications or proven experience in Education Support.
A genuine passion for helping students learn and grow
Ability to collaborate and thrive in a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Up to date First Aid Certificate, Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration and current National Police Criminal History Check (NPCHC).
