Key Responsibilities:
* Develop strategic initiatives for merchandise planning, working closely with category managers to achieve sales and profit goals.
* Create financial plans that support merchandise strategies, analyzing sales and margin performance of product categories.
* Manage the product lifecycle in collaboration with merchandise managers, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
* Analyze promotional plans and recommend actions to optimize sales and margin.
* Complete yearly category analysis and partner with category managers on range reviews and ranging strategies.
* Work with the general manager to manage merchandise financial plans, identifying risks and opportunities.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated expertise in merchandise analytics and planning, with experience in retail environments.
* Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
* Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with ability to navigate complex data sets.
* Experience managing sales, gross profit, and margin, as well as stock and stock turns.
* Effective communication skills to influence stakeholders and introduce new concepts.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and other planning tools, with ability to adapt to new environments.
* A results-driven approach to work, with energy and purpose.
