Project Engineer/Officer (Electrical)


Salary: Band 4 commencing from $95,745 or Band 5 from $107,479 per year (+ superannuation)

Employment type: Full Time

Location: Mildura or Swan Hill, Victoria

About the role


Reporting directly to the Program Manager, you will be instrumental in leading the delivery of your own suite of projects, as well as supporting others in the delivery of their Projects, leveraging strengths across a multi-disciplined team. From scoping and stakeholder engagement to design and delivery, you will see projects through from concept through to construction and commissioning. You will be supported by your numerous teammates, tier 1 consultants and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget to the benefit of our customers and wider community.


Key responsibilities

* Support the development of project scope, budgets, plans and schedules
* Engage and coordinate stakeholders during the development and execution of work including operations, contractors and external agencies
* Engage and manage external designers, consultants and contractors, ensuring their work is completed within the terms of the contract and safely achieves the required outcomes
* Apply innovative design ideas to maximise internal and external customer outcomes
* Monitor and regularly report on project progress and budgets, ensure action is taken to address deviations from the project program
* Contribute to a safety orientated culture and ensure the safety and quality of all activities


About you


We require a self-motivated person who is safety conscious looking to work in a fast-paced team environment. To be successful in this role, you would ideally have some of the following.

* Experienced electrical engineer or highly experienced tradesperson with experience in the water industry or related, ideally with experience in SCADA and Control Systems
* An analytical thinker with experience in delivering innovative technical solutions and an eye for detail
* Able to manage competing priorities, delivering multiple projects at various stages of delivery
* Good communication skills and an ability to manage multiple stakeholders
* Understanding of how you work in a safe and effective manner
