About the role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Building Services Manager to join our Sydney team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from tender and procurement through to delivery, commissioning and final handover. You will play a critical role in supporting project teams, mitigating services-related risk, driving strong commercial and delivery outcomes, and building trusted relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded services professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. Data centre and Heavy Services experience will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities
* Providing technical support and services delivery guidance to project teams across procurement, delivery and commissioning
* Large scale projects valued around $500 million and above
* Reviewing tender and design documentation to identify risks, opportunities, alternatives and commercial advantages
* Supporting subcontractor negotiations, scope analysis and procurement strategies to strengthen project outcomes
* Leading integrated testing, commissioning planning and systems acceptance processes across projects
* Conducting project inspections and reviewing testing results, ITPs and reports to ensure quality and contractual compliance
* Presenting SHAPE's technical understanding and methodology at client tender review meetings
* Driving continuous improvement in services delivery, commissioning practices and knowledge sharing across teams
* Supporting and mentoring Services Managers, Coordinators and wider project teams
You will bring
* 7+ years' experience across construction, fit out and refurbishment projects
* Strong technical knowledge across building services, with proven capability in at least one core discipline
* Experience in bid support, project delivery, procurement strategy and commissioning management
* A strong understanding of codes, standards, contracts and regulatory requirements
* The ability to review documentation and identify risk, value management opportunities and delivery improvements
* Experience leading testing, commissioning and handover processes on complex projects
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build credibility with clients, consultants and subcontractors
* Trade or tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering or a services-related field
* Experience delivering Green Star and/or WELL projects will be highly regarded
* Experience in data centres or services-heavy projects will be highly regarded, but not essential
