Service:
Community Mental Health Team
The Community Mental Health Teams are located at both Port Augusta and Whyalla, providing specialised one-to-one counselling, group work, care coordination and health promotional activities to promote mental, emotional, physical, and social health and wellbeing.
Workers provide information, education, counselling and support to adults, families and carers whose lives are affected by mental health issues.
There are also specialist youth mental health clinicians based in the region and access to specialist older persons mental health services.

About the Role:
As a Mental Health Nurse Consultant, you will provide expert clinical nursing care and consultancy services that strengthen secure, high-quality mental health care across community, acute, and rehabilitation settings.
In this senior role, you will exercise significant autonomy and decision-making while leading projects and programs that improve consumer and service outcomes.
You will also provide clinical leadership and guidance to other nurses, ensuring best practice standards are upheld.
With accountability for your own practice and the advice and delegations you provide, you will play a vital role in supporting recovery-focused mental health services and driving service excellence.

About You:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Holds a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent).
- Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in the mental health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
- Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of multidisciplinary staff, student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and/or midwives.
- Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
