Senior Design Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in design and engineering roles within utility-scale solar project construction.
The Senior Design Engineer will work closely with the Solar Engineering Manager to coordinate technical requirements and specifications, ensuring all project deliverables are met on schedule.
The role involves managing conceptual designs in AutoCAD, preliminary engineering analyses, and performance evaluations, as well as overseeing junior design engineers to meet client deliverables, standards, codes, and specifications.
In addition, the Senior Design Engineer will review design documents, shop drawings, datasheets, and other applicable technical information, understand equipment specifications to integrate design strategies and techniques to construction plans and drawings, and calculate energy losses for designs and review and implement strategies to optimize the overall performance of the system.
The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline, such as electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or project management, and have at least 2 years of engineering experience.
Strong organizational and time management skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting and tight deadlines are essential for this role.
The Senior Design Engineer will be required to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and develop strong customer-focused relationships.
Responsibilities
* Manage conceptual designs in AutoCAD and preliminary engineering analyses
* Oversee junior design engineers to meet client deliverables, standards, codes, and specifications
* Review design documents, shop drawings, datasheets, and other applicable technical information
* Calculate energy losses for designs and review and implement strategies to optimize the overall performance of the system
* Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and develop strong customer-focused relationships
Qualifications
* Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline (e.g., electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, project management)
* At least 2 years of engineering experience
* Strong organizational and time management skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting and tight deadlines
* Ability to learn new software programs and apply understanding to perform technical analyses and problem-solve
