About the Role
La Trobe Universitys regional campuses are central to our identity mission and purpose. As Head of Campus Shepparton you will play a pivotal leadership role in enhancing La Trobes visibility and impact across Shepparton the Goulburn Valley region and Northern Victoria.
You will drive strategic initiatives to address critical skills shortages expand educational access and strengthen research engagement in priority industries such as health education and agriculture. As the Universitys principal representative in Shepparton you will foster strong partnerships with government industry and community and ensure excellence in student and staff experiences.
Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Regional) this senior leadership role is both locally influential and integral to the Universitys executive leadership shaping the implementation of strategic priorities and driving transformative contributions to education research and community development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide visible and influential leadership as the Universitys primary representative in Shepparton.
* Build and strengthen partnerships with community organisations industry government and local MPs.
* Lead strategic initiatives that contribute to regional community development and demonstrate La Trobes role as an anchor institution.
* Identify and respond to the distinct social economic and workforce challenges of the Shepparton region.
* Drive campus-level contributions that advance La Trobes mission and strategic priorities.
* Champion a culture of continuous improvement enriching the student experience and building staff capability.
* Provide operational leadership for the campus ensuring effective resource deployment and financial sustainability.
* Ensure compliance with university policies external regulations and quality assurance standards.
Skills & Experience
* Demonstrated ability to work with complexity and ambiguity showing tenacity and resilience.
* Exemplary leadership and communication skills with a proven ability to drive accountability and performance.
* Experience in policy development and implementation enhancing the Universitys standing locally and internationally.
* Outstanding interpersonal skills including conflict resolution and negotiation.
* Proven experience in managing staff performance and development.
* Deep knowledge of the Goulburn Valley and broader northern Victoria region with trusted relationships across local government health education and industry.
* Ability to represent the University and deputise for the Vice-Chancellor within the community.
Essential Compliance Requirements
* Hold or be willing to undertake and pass a Victorian Working with Children Check.
* Hold a Victorian drivers licence.
* Take personal accountability to comply with all University policies procedures and legislative or regulatory obligations.
