Product Developer
Unreal Fur is a Melbourne-based outerwear brand recognised globally for elevated, cruelty-free faux fur. We combine directional design with ethical innovation, creating statement pieces stocked by leading international retailers.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Product Developer with 2 to 3 years experience in a similar fashion development role to support our design and production teams from concept through to bulk production. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Abbotsford, Victoria, with flexible working hours. Full Australian working rights are required.
This role sits at the centre of the product lifecycle, ensuring supplier alignment, accurate documentation, and a seamless transition from development into operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage supplier communication throughout development, ensuring timelines are met
Track and monitor samples and swatches, maintaining accurate development schedules
Communicate fit and design feedback to factories and follow through on revisions
Assist in fit sessions, record fit notes, update tech packs, and confirm next sample timelines
Maintain style packs, tagging, measurements, and costings from initial quote through pricing stage
Approve strike-offs, fabrics, grading specs, and pre-production requirements
Prepare accurate product and size information for e-commerce and sales teams
Manage shipment tracking and development billing coordination with Accounts
Co-manage R&D grant documentation alongside the Senior Designer
Enter approved design details into Cin7 at MA stage with full accuracy
Maintain SKU tagging and packaging documentation
Assist with shipment bookings and logistics during peak periods
About You
2 to 3 years experience in product development within fashion or apparel
Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Confident managing offshore supplier communication
Comfortable balancing multiple timelines and stakeholders
Experience with ERP systems such as Cin7 highly regarded
