What does my day to day look like?
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial management, statutory compliance, and financial reporting across the Group's operating entities. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial information to support operational decision-making, cash flow management, and strategic planning.
Working closely with the CFO and Financial Controller, the Finance Manager plays a critical role in supporting the establishment and ongoing management of the Group structure, including the integration of future acquisitions outside of Polyaire. The role provides hands-on leadership across transactional finance, compliance, and reporting, while also supporting acquisition due diligence, post-merger integration, and the financial frameworks required to enable sustainable Group growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support group-wide financial reporting and consolidation processes,
* Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members as need when need
* Maintain clear financial separation between Polyaire and Group entities
* Manage month-end and year-end close processes
* Support the development of budgets, forecasts, and rolling cash flow projections across the Group and prepare, oversee, and maintain corporate cost allocations and intercompany charges to Group subsidiaries
* Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), relevant tax legislation, and statutory reporting obligations across all Group entities.
* Prepare and oversee all regulatory lodgements, including BAS, GST, PAYG, FBT, Payment Times Reporting, WorkCover, and Payroll Tax.
* Coordinate year-end audit processes and act as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies, including supporting ASIC compliance requirements
* Prepare and maintain all banking compliance and covenant reporting
* Support the establishment of new entities, including intercompany frameworks, governance compliance, and statutory setup
* Maintain a group-wide cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury activities to ensure adequate liquidity and financial stability.
* Oversee accounts receivable, credit control, and accounts payable functions across all Group subsidiaries to optimise working capital performance.
* Maintain robust internal financial controls, approval frameworks, and segregation of duties to safeguard company assets.
* Monitor inventory valuation, cost controls, and stock-related financial risks
* Oversee finance systems and support system implementations, upgrades, and integrations to ensure the effective, consistent, and compliant use of ERP and accounting platforms across the Group.
* Assist with post-acquisition finance integration as needed
* Act as a trusted finance partner to operations, sales, and senior leadership and support cross-functional initiatives including pricing, capex evaluation, and business cases
* Contribute to finance capability uplift as the business grows or acquires new entities
Key Skills and Experience
* CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
* 7+ years' experience in finance or accounting roles, including people or process leadership
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance
* Experience preparing management accounts and working with senior stakeholders
* Advanced Excel and strong financial systems capability
* High attention to detail with strong commercial judgement
* Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into insights
* Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
* Experience in wholesale, manufacturing, or multi-site operations (Desirable)
* ERP experience (e.g., Epicor, SAP, NetSuite, MYOB Advanced, or similar) (Desirable)
* Exposure to M&A integration or rapid business growth environments (Desirable)
