Our client is a founder-focused software investment group that acquires and grows successful B2B software companies, not to flip them, but to scale them sustainably. They're known for partnering with founders to protect their legacy, their people, and their vision.
The opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to join a small, entrepreneurial team that's reshaping how tech acquisitions are done. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll lead founder origination and relationship development, identifying, connecting with, and building trust with founders of start-ups and scale-ups across the B2B software space.
You're not selling a product, you're creating meaningful relationships so that when these founders are ready to sell, you are their first call. This role blends creativity, curiosity, and persistence. You'll use data, AI tools, and smart outreach to get through to the right people, then engage them through one-to-one conversations, small-scale events, and ongoing relationship nurturing.
What you'll do
Identify and connect with founders of high-potential B2B software businesses (EBITA $1M+).
Build and nurture long-term relationships to become their trusted acquirer of choice.
Use research, insight, and storytelling to engage founders, not to sell, but to listen.
Design and run tailored marketing and engagement initiatives (1 : 1, 1 : few, 1 : many)
Lead and coach a small team (3) to scale outreach and engagement efforts.
Continuously refine systems and approaches using AI, data, and automation.
Represent the brand with authenticity, empathy, and commercial acumen.
About you
10+ years experience in commercial or business leadership roles in tech.
Experience working in early-stage, start-up, or scale-up environments.
Exceptional emotional intelligence, curiosity, and genuine interest in founders' journeys.
Proven experience engaging directly with founders or business owners, building trust, understanding their goals, and maintaining long-term relationships.
Hands-on experience designing and running small-scale marketing or networking events (1 : 1, 1 : few, 1 : many) to connect with and nurture key relationships.
Skilled in relationship-building, listening, and consultative engagement.
A strong communicator who thrives on connecting with people and earning trust.
Confident operating autonomously and creatively to open doors and build rapport.
Commercially aware with a strategic mindset, but comfortable rolling up your sleeves.
Shape how a growing investment group connects with founders and sources acquisitions.
Take full ownership of the origination and deal flow function for a growing international portfolio.
Work closely with the CEO in a small, agile, high-impact environment.
