Job Description
The North West Regional Hospital is the principal referral centre for the North West population, providing a range of medical services including general medicine, surgical, intensive care, cancer services, rehabilitation and paediatric services.
The Medical Ward caters for all general medicine, including respiratory, cardiac, acute stroke, palliative and infectious diseases. It also includes an eight bed Acute Medical Unit (AMU), designed for patients who require shorter stays to have rapid reviews, assessments and discharge planning.
The Role:
The Clinical Nurse Educator is accountable for applying nursing expertise and contemporary teaching and learning practice to implement education programs for nurses that align with the strategic priorities of the hospital, respond to emerging clinical need and facilitate professional development for the nursing workforce.
You will need:
* High level professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing, midwifery and multidisciplinary stakeholders to enact education and development strategies for nursing and midwifery practice.
* Experience in working directly with individual nurses to identify missed care and opportunities to extend practice toward improving patient outcomes, including the ability to provide high quality feedback.
* High level communication and teamwork skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
