Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of our Two-way Science Initiative. This initiative aims to connect the Western Australian Science Curriculum to Aboriginal knowledges, promoting culturally responsive teaching and learning practices.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting schools in building positive relationships with parents, carers, and local Aboriginal communities, as well as developing place-based culturally responsive teaching and learning programs for primary and secondary school students.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the Two-way Science Initiative, working closely with curriculum teams and regional education offices.
* Provide expert advice and guidance on culturally responsive practices, risk management, and program evaluation.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal communities, organisations, and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Demonstrated extensive knowledge and understanding of policies, frameworks, and issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
* High-level project management skills, including planning, coordination, and evaluation of culturally responsive initiatives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build mutually respectful relationships and partnerships.
