About the Role
DDH1 Drilling is seeking an experienced and proactive Warehouse Manager to lead and oversee the Stores and Warehousing function. This role is responsible for the effective receiving, storage, control, and distribution of parts, materials, and consumables across the business. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Warehouse Manager works closely with Operations Managers, Maintenance teams, Site teams, Procurement, and support functions to ensure inventory accuracy, cost control, safety compliance, and reliable supply to operational sites. The role will also play a key part in the business transition to Pronto ERP over the next 12 months, supporting system readiness, data accuracy, and process discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Inventory Management
* Oversee all receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch activities for parts, materials, and consumables.
* Ensure inventory accuracy through strong stock control, system discipline, and reconciliation processes.
* Maintain appropriate stock levels to support operational demand while minimising excess and obsolete inventory.
* Plan, coordinate, and prioritise daily warehouse workloads to ensure efficient use of resources.
* Ensure warehouse layout and storage practices maximise space utilisation and workflow efficiency.
* Maintain accurate, timely, and auditable records of all warehouse transactions and activities.
* Support ERP system requirements, including master data integrity, item creation, bin locations, and transaction accuracy.
ERP & Systems (Pronto)
* Support and actively participate in the transition to Pronto ERP, including system implementation, testing, and go-live activities.
* Ensure warehouse processes align with Pronto system requirements and best practice.
* Maintain high standards of data accuracy, including item master data, units of measure, bin locations, and costing structures.
* Assist with user training, process documentation, and change management within the Stores team.
* Identify and address system or process gaps impacting inventory accuracy or operational efficiency.
Leadership & People Management
* Lead, develop, and motivate the warehouse team to create a cohesive, safety-focused, and high-performing culture.
* Manage team rosters to ensure adequate coverage, productivity, and fatigue management.
* Coach and mentor team members to support capability development, performance, and succession planning.
* Promote accountability and adherence to established processes and standards.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
* Act as a key point of contact for suppliers in relation to warehouse operations, deliveries, shortages, and returns.
* Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely supply, correct pricing, and accurate receipting of goods.
* Manage supplier delivery performance, including lead times, accuracy, and compliance with site requirements.
* Resolve supply issues, discrepancies, damaged goods, and non-conformances in a timely manner.
* Support supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety, Compliance & Risk
* Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant warehouse environment, free from hazards.
* Ensure compliance with relevant warehouse safety legislation, standards, and DDH1 policies.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections within the Stores.
* Actively promote a strong safety-first culture and continuous improvement mindset.
Financial, Stocktake & Governance
* Manage the Stores budget, including cost control and reporting.
* Plan and conduct biannual stocktakes and ongoing cycle counts.
* Investigate stock variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
* Support internal and external audits, ensuring findings are addressed and closed out.
Continuous Improvement
* Identify opportunities to improve warehouse systems, processes, supplier performance, and inventory controls.
* Implement improvements to inventory accuracy, efficiency, and governance.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders to support operational excellence across the business.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* 6–8+ years' proven experience in warehouse or stores management, ideally in a mining, drilling, or industrial environment.
* Demonstrated experience with ERP-based inventory systems, including Pronto ERP (preferred) or similar platforms.
* Experience supporting or leading ERP system transitions or implementations within a warehouse environment.
* Strong experience in inventory management, stock control, stocktaking, and variance investigation.
* Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Strong understanding of warehouse workflows, supplier interfaces, and inventory governance.
* Proven leadership capability with the ability to build, motivate, and develop teams.
* Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with suppliers, site teams, and internal stakeholders.
* A safety-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing operational priorities.
