Staff DevSecOps Engineer
This is the most senior individual contributor role within Ubank's Infrastructure function. You'll set technical direction across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, networking, and deployment automation in AWS and Azure.
You'll lead architecture decisions, drive our infrastructure‐as‐code and Zero Trust strategy, mentor senior engineers, and ensure our platforms meet APRA regulatory expectations.
What You'll Do
Architecture & Cloud Platforms
* Define infrastructure standards across AWS and Azure, covering cloud provisioning, networking, identity, and governance
* Lead architecture decisions and trade‐off analysis for major platform changes
Kubernetes & Containers
* Own the Kubernetes platform strategy, including cluster architecture, upgrades, and workload isolation
* Set container security standards for image integrity, scanning, runtime controls, and secrets management
Networking & Zero Trust
* Design cloud and hybrid network architectures (VPCs, segmentation, transit, connectivity)
* Drive Zero Trust adoption, including identity‐aware access and micro segmentation
CI/CD & Automation
* Define infrastructure CI/CD patterns using Terraform, Jenkins, and ArgoCD
* Standardise deployment approaches such as blue‐green and canary releases
Security, Compliance & Cost
o Establish hardened infrastructure baselines aligned to APRA CPS 234 and CPS 230
o Ensure auditable infrastructure changes and security evidence
o Lead cost optimisation across AWS and Azure
Leadership
o Mentor senior engineers and uplift infrastructure capability across teams
What You'll Bring
o 10+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, or DevSecOps roles, including 5+ years at enterprise cloud scale
o Strong hands‐on experience across AWS and Azure, including Terraform‐based IaC
o Deep Kubernetes and deployment automation expertise (ArgoCD, Jenkins, Helm)
o Proven experience setting technical standards across multiple teams
o Experience in an APRA‐regulated or highly regulated environment (highly regarded)
