Purpose
Consultants are passionate in their pursuit of knowledge. They quickly get to know and understand the business of their clients and competitors. They have a desire to keep updated with media channels and are willing to learn and develop media contacts and best practice approaches.
Consultants are team players and problem solvers, able to quickly adapt to new situations. They are good at research and work to assist senior members of the team to develop and implement campaigns for clients.
Your Responsibilities
Product
* Understanding of public relations within wider marketing mix.
* Strong media relations coordination skills including reviewing media lists andconducting media research.
* Journalist relationships; having familiarity with journalist specialism/interests, editorial contacts and calendars, publication dates.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of Australian media landscape; publications across all verticals.
* Ability to form basic publicity strategies.
* Implement media relations to meet campaign and/or retainer KPI's, including launch day press pack distribution.
* Manage journalist enquiries, creative pitching of stories and demonstrates problem solving to pivot angles with the support of supervisor.
* Basic writing skills for key client documents using a range of appropriate styles - pitches, briefing materials, features, case studies, newsletters, web site copy, bylined articles, etc.
* Manage influencer programs, including talent outreach, cost negotiation and Talent Pay budget management.
* Manage post campaign analysis including result tracking, reporting and EOD's, including proficiency in PR tools such as Meltwater / iSentia.
Client Service
* Understanding of client business, industry sectors and issues. Demonstrates this through the sharing of AOI relating to clients.
* Keeping supervisors informed and updated regarding all comms with clients.
* Manage client expectations and begins to build understanding of client's overall business objectives.
* Demonstrate online and offline research skills (primary, secondary) on industry and client topics, issues and competitors. Plus analysis of information.
* Demonstrate strong understanding of client processes including the updating of WIPs for supervisor review. WIP notes developed in a timely manner.
* Begins to develop presentation skills through the leading of segments in WIPs, client meetings.
* Contribute in brainstorms and proactively shares ideas.
* Liaise with suppliers, such as venues, photographers, printers.
* Contributes to program budget management by reviewing vendor invoices for payment based on client budget.
People
* Begin to build supervisory skills by coaching and assisting executives and interns.
* Develop good team relationships; communicates in a constructive and timely fashion.
* Demonstrates commitment to Eleven values by working effectively within a team, demonstrating co-ordination, communication, problem-solving and contribution.
* Demonstrates motivation and a 'can-do' attitude – applies energy and enthusiasm to ongoing workload and projects.
Your Skills and Experience
* Basic competency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
* Proficient using PR and media tools such as Klear, Telum, SourceBottle etc.
* Effective time management, including timesheet completion each week.
* High attention to detail and ability to complete tasks on time and works ability to be flexible with changing timelines
* An understanding of a social media platform including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
About You
* Tertiary qualification or similar
* 1 + year's agency / discipline related experience
* Writing for different areas of the media
* Able to create and sell in stories to news media and ability to analyse market data
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Broad understanding of event management, sponsorship
* Good people skills – able to relate to a wide range of people
* Proven problem solving, attention to detail and organisational skill
* Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
