Our client, one of QLD's largest Local Councils is seeking a passionate and experience animal handler for a casual position based in Kingston.
Work Monday to Friday, 38 hour weeks with a casual hourly pay of $31.53.
**The Role**:
- Attend to customer requests regarding wandering animals, animals contained for collection, enclosure issues, patrols (proactive and reactive), property inspections and non-compliance of dog off-leash parks
- Comprehend and understand animal body language. Safely handle frightened, timid, injured or aggressive animals with confidence and patience
- Undertake all impounding duties including registration and microchip checks to confirm owner identity
- Provide preliminary care services for all cats and dogs entering into the Animal Management Centre. This includes hydrobathing, weighing, welfare and preliminary visual assessments
- Assist external agencies (QLD Police, Ambulance, RSPCA, etc) with animal control / handling to enable them to carry out their operational requirements (execute warrants, attend patients), etc
**About You**:
- Sound animal handling skills (domestic animals)
- Livestock handling experience desirable
- Current driver's license
- Team Player
- Customer Service Skills
- Happy to use own mobile phone (allowance paid)
- Computer skills
