Head of Department - Science role at Department of Education, Western Australia.
This is a 3 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency.
Pinjarra Senior High School (SHS) has a history dating back to 1921 and serves the Pinjarra community.

The Role at a glance: Lead the Science learning area as Ho LA – Science, driving collaboration, capacity building, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning aligned with the school's pedagogical framework.
Responsibilities
Lead and support a developing Science team, focusing on capacity building, professional growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Promote evidence-based best practice in teaching and learning; use data to inform planning and target interventions to improve student outcomes.
Contribute to whole-school initiatives, promote wellbeing, and foster partnerships within the Pinjarra community and beyond.
Lead change and innovation; analyse performance data related to the Science learning area.
Develop and guide curriculum leadership within your team to ensure quality teaching for all students.

Eligibility
Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
